Replacement Windows Styles
Replacement windows made by companies such as Jeld-Wen Windows, Andersen Windows, Pella Windows, and Milgard Windows are very similar. Here are the most common styles of replacement windows:
- Double-Hung replacement windows. With double-hung windows, you may never have to go outside the house to wash windows again. double-hung windows are the ideal choice when windows are next to walkways, porches or maybe patios.
- Bay and Bow replacement windows. You can use bay and bow window units in many different architectural settings. Simply because they extend outward from the house, they tend to alter the basic configuration of a structural style, adding originality.
- Gliding replacement windows. Gliding windows are well suited for spaces that are next to walkways and other traffic places, since they don’t project outward. In general, placement higher on walls is the preferred, mainly in houses with kids.
- Casement windows. When positioned high on walls, awning windows can catch a breeze from any direction and provide light to a living room while maintaining privacy. In addition, they can be opened slightly to allow ventilation during light rain showers.
- Awning. Awning windows can be placed in a row, column, or maybe against other windows, creating walls of light that are both beautiful and functional. They are usually used to flank picture windows.
- Picture replacement windows. Picture windows are appropriate on almost any home style that can accomodate a large feature window without compromising architectural design.
- Skylight replacement windows.
