- I just went and bought some new Pella Thermastar replacement windows after not being satisfied with the replacements in another room that I purchased at HD and I see they are rated quite poorly on Consumer Report’s website. Has anyone recently installed the Pella Thermastar series 20 windows?
- I put Pella Thermastar replacement windows in my new home last year and they seem perfectly fine to me. It doesn’t get super cold here in NC, but was a bit windy / chilly today (in the 20’s) and haven’t felt any drafts.
- I have installed many Pella replacement windows so let me shed maybe a little light on this. Pella has a recommended installation procedure. It involves how to prepare and waterproof the opening and how to seal it up and insulate after the window is installed. The unfortunate part is the vast majority of companies that install replacement windows and doors do not follow these recommended installation procedures. These are also the same companies where you end up with water leaks in 5-10 years.
