KITCHEN REPLACEMENT DOORS

Rather than spending a fortune re-modeling your entire kitchen, why not simply try kitchen replacement doors as a way to revitalize the kitchen without going broke. It is amazing how this subtle difference will drastically improve the overall look of the room. There are many different styles available including traditional, contemporary and modern that are available for just about any budget.В

A significant portion of the cost of re-modeling a kitchen is the cabinets, which is why that investing in these could save you thousands of dollars. The amount of time it takes to install new cabinet’ is substantial as well. If your cabinets are still in good shape then really all you need to do is replace the doors.

In most cases, the cabinets are solid structurally and all that most do-it-yourselfers need is kitchen replacement doors. The cabinets are the most visible piece of furniture in most kitchens. They are also one of the most abused pieces of furniture in the entire house. Many different colors and stains are available to choose from in order to transform the old into the new when it comes to cabinetry.

One decision that you will need to make is who is going to do the brunt of the work. If you are a do-it-yourselfer and enjoy tackling jobs like this then good for you. However, not everyone has the time or patience needed to undertake a job such as this. Even though you are looking to save money, you want the job done right the first time, so if this is not your cup of tea then seriously consider hiring a contractor to do the work for you. It will still not cost you as much as re-doing the entire kitchen.

If you want to remodel but still want to keep the old cabinet doors then kitchen replacement doors may not be what you want. You can also reface the original doors as well. A re-facing job is more expensive than simply re-finishing the cabinets. You would need to remove the old doors and have the fronts replaced with a new surface, which could be wood veneer or a laminate. This is not an easy job to do but if you are comfortable with doing it then take your time and seek out any help if needed. It is also a very time consuming job.

Kitchen replacement doors are now being made of a product called rigid thermal foil or RTF. It is easy to look after, lasts a long time and is not as costly as wood. Due to these characteristics, it is finding a place in the home improvement world. Rigid thermal foil is actually fiberboard covered with a pressure molded foil laminate and then vacuum sealed to provide a leak proof seal.
