DYNAMIC WINDOW COVERINGS

DYNAMIC WINDOW COVERINGS
If given a choice everyone would love dynamic window coverings. Some people don’t have this for one reason or another but if the reason falls into the category of thinking they are too expensive then that is not a good reason to not have the best window coverings possible. There is a little more thought that has to be put into your window when decorating as usually that will be the focal point of your room. So choosing the right decorating covers will be most important. This is where you think about the kind of window treatments you really want to have. This will include the amount of space you have in your room. You have to pay attention to the type of fabric you are using due to some fabrics being more susceptible to sun rot but once you have chosen your fabric there are many ways to make your window treatments dynamic. One way to save money and create a custom look is to cover a tension rod with a bigger piece of PVC pipe. If you think the numbers that are stamped on there are going to cause a problem with your fabric just sand them off. Another easy way to get rid of the numbers is by covering them with fingernail polish.
If your window is really large you will find that a closet dowel comes in handy. It s stronger than PVC and can be painted any color you want but these are ideal to take the place of curtain rods and give a very distinctive look. Copper pipe also works well and you will find that with both of these the cost is a fraction of the manufactured rods that are on the market today. If you use copper be sure you spray it with a clear gloss as you don’t want your curtain to be touching the copper.
