Windsor Windows & Doors has upgraded its existing top class window product line by adding a casement and awning to its Legend Series line of windows. These Windsor casement windows match the strength and beauty of traditional wood windows with the added benefits of easy installation and low maintenance. This Windsor casement window is not like any ordinary vinyl window. A neoteric manufacturing process creates a solid material that provides the appearance and feel of wooden windows with the extraordinary performance characteristics of cellular poly-vinyl chloride.

As PVC provides increased strength and insulation, these casement windows from Windsor are guaranteed against rotting, warping or swelling, and are especially suitable for high-moisture areas like coastal regions. Another unique feature of these casement windows from Windsor is the newly introduced no-nail, cellular PVC brick mould. This feature is a big advantage for builders, as windows can be fitted with ease and in a shorter span of time than traditional windows.

The brick mould is also made of cellular PVC material; consequently the entire window exterior is protected from rotting, warping and swelling caused by weather elements. What’s more, the brick mould is an integral part of the window so the windows can be installed through a structural nail fin, not through the brick mould itself. This feature eliminates the need for filling holes and painting and touch-up of windows .The Legend Casement window has a C-R40 overall performance rating; a DP50 structural rating and it meets Energy Star requirements.

Windsor casements offer a multi-point lcoking system that grabs the sash at a number of points and pulls it close into the jamb, creating a weather-tight, energy-efficient seal. All this is performed with ease by a single lock lever which opens and closes with little effort. The lock is located low on the casement, so even if it’s located above a kitchen sink, it’s easy to operate. Our adjustable hinge system completes the total performance package. As the home settles, the hinges can be adjusted to ensure smooth operation for many years to come.

Varieties of Casement Windows
Casement windows are typically long and narrow; they are stylish but practical. They have a long tradition of use, and can be found in many contemporary home designs. They come in nearly every design that can be desired, whether framed in real wood or vinyl, with or without multiple panes. The gears that are used to open and close the window vary from model to model, but most work by turning a crank. Casement windows can be used alone, or to accent a large picture window. Window treatments for casement windows are typically the same as for other windows, unless the window opens inward, in which case the treatment will have to be able to move with it.
